Australian Immigration Guide : How To Get An Australian Visa

This part of our guide to emigrating to Australia focuses on getting an Australian visa…

Australia has a universal visa system, which means that all people traveling to Australia (except Australian citizens) require a valid visa to enter the country. Failure to arrange this prior to arrival will result in you being turned away on arrival at the airport and being immediately sent back to the country you flew from.

You can find details of the various types of visas offered by visiting http://www.immi.gov.au, where you can also download an immigration application form. Be sure to read through all of the information and advice provided on the website to ensure that you’re both applying for the right type of visa and are eligible for it.

The completing of the application form is an essential step as there’s no other way to obtain a visa (such as from an embassy, from a third party, on arrival, etc.). Once you have filled it in you should send it to the Department of Immigration and Culture (often shortened to DIAC).

They aren’t known for their leniency so you should check and double-check both your application form and all accompanying documents before sending it off. Any errors will result in it being automatically rejected, without you having the option to make any slight amendments to it.

Fees for visas vary dramatically depending upon the visa category you are applying under. With police checks, medical records, government fees etc, the cost of the application can, sometimes, be a considerable expense. The time taken to process your application also varies, though you should allow a minimum of 12 months.

You’ll be notified of whether your visa application was successful or not by letter. If you’re refused a visa, you’re notified why and, if applicable, where you can apply for a review of the decision and the time limit for doing so.

Just because of Swine Flu, holiday prices in Mexico have plummeted!!

A holiday to Mexico this summer could be one of the best holiday choices you can make. This will all be explained in this post. Mexico has been given so much diminishing press all about Swine Flu, that it is being avoided by all the tourists, now they have cut there holiday prices up to 50%!!

Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. One of the main problems is that they have lost massive amounts of money through tourism, which had become one of Mexico’s biggest money spinners. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.

You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. So is this the best place to go for your holiday now, as far as it looks it most certainly is. Both the Caribbean and Mexico have not had much good news published about them because of the Swine Flu but the holiday offers are amazing.

So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Are you worried about catching it? As Swine Flu cases are dropping, the press are not going to be advertising it quite as much. According to the Sunday Times in an article that they posted, some hoteliers will be offering free holidays for 3 years to anybody that catches swine flu within 2 weeks of going to the resort.

So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. Catching Swine Flu won’t be anymore likely in any other country than ones where it has already established itself.
